The idea was to educate and explain to Christians and Non-Ahmadi Muslims the fundamental believes of Islam, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Claims of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi.

It was also to preach the peaceful message of Islam and the Promised Messiah to them and to remove all forms of misconceptions that had been long held by them on Ahmadiyya and Islam in general.

Aside from their desirable reservations about Islam and Ahmadiyyat, some Christians and non- Ahmadis took the bold step to participate in the event which was done in collaboration with AMSAG.

The resource persons were Maulvi Sherif Bin Jaffa of Jamia Ahmadiyya International, Mr Muhammed Hussein Acquah, Former Mutamim Tabligh, MKA Ghana, Hafiz Hafif Ahmed and Mr Zakariah who was the main speaker.

The main speaker, Mr Zakariah treated the topic “ the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah” and cited various verses from the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith to support the claim by the Imam Mahdi.

He said the advent of the Imam Mahdi was foretold by the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) who himself acknowledged that after him, there would be somebody to guide the Muslims onto the right path.

He said the Promised Messiah’s claim was greeted with severe opposition from the World especially from the Arabs who persecuted him until he fled Qadian, but because He was from Allah, He was able to spread Ahmadiyya to all corners of the earth.

The participants, most of whom were Non-Ahmadi Muslims and Christians asked numerous question on areas such as the concept of Jihad and Islamic veiling.

Other questions asked were on Marriage, concept of Jesus in Islam, fasting, truthfulness of the Promised Messiah, Acceptance of prayer, Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Oneness of God among others.

In all more than thirty (30) questions were asked with follow up and they were convincingly answered to the satisfaction of those who asked them.

Some of the participants especially Christian participants lauded the Ahmadiyya Movement for the opportunity that allowed them to ask questions to clear their minds on the beliefs and teachings of Islam to deepen their understanding.

They said such events should be occasionally organise saying, “there are so many people out there who have different perception about Islam. You must take these programs to them as well”.

“The discussions here today have made me realize how much work we need to do to remove the misconceptions that have been held about Islam Ahamdiyyat” an Ahmadi participant said.
